Four-Year-Old Program

The four-year-old room is set up to take advantage of maturing socialization skills, and the activities foster individual interpretation as well as cooperative play and reasoning abilities.
The day begins with a circle time which includes verbal sharing and an introduction to the day's designed activities as well as free choice activities. Developing language is encouraged in conversation, problem-solving, imaginative play, stories and experience charts.
Mid morning snack time is followed by story and music.
Outside play encourages cooperation and skill building of large muscles.

P.M. Program

Children arrive on the playground at 12:00, having about 40 minutes of large muscle play before going inside for lunch. As they finish lunch and clean up, there is time for choice of books or puzzles before circle. Kindergarteners join the class after their arrival and time outside.
During circle time, news is shared, and the stage is set for the activities of the day which include art, construction, cooking or science activities as well cooperative play centers.
Clean up is about 3:00 so that there is time for story, music and movement before dismissal at 3:30.
